Going Mobile
I'm going to work on scheduling one day a week where I spend zero to very little time in the office and most of my time wandering around the site checking on things. This is a much better way for me to see how things are working. I'll let you know how well my experiment works out.

Shuttle and Station Overhead
STS-122 is winding down. Tonight in League City, Texas I will be able to see both the Shuttle (http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/shuttle/main/index.html) and the Station (http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/main/index.html) fly overhead. Heaven's Above (http://www.heavens-above.com) is a great website for looking up visible passes of all kinds of spacecraft. If you live near me the results for tonight are here (http://www.heavens-above.com/PassSummary.aspx?satid=32486&lat=29.507&lng=-95.095&loc=League+City&alt=7&tz=CST), other places can be searched from the home page. I'll try to film the pass tonight and post it if the camera works ok.

STS-122
I always like this photo (http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/shuttle/shuttlemissions/sts122/multimedia/launch/index.html) of the aftermath of a shuttle launch (http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/210808main_08pd0219.jpg). The huge beast you were looking at on the pad is gone and all that is left is this squiggly smoke. It's surreal.

Kindle is Coming!
The Amazon Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-com-kindle/dp/B000FI73MA) that I ordered on January 29th was supposed to ship today and arrive tomorrow. Right in time for Valentine's Day!
My wife should really like it. She reads a lot and frequently buys whatvere Oprah (http://www.oprah.com/obc_classic/webevent_registration.jsp?promocode=HP31) recommends.
It looks like the e-book prices are at least half-off so I'm hoping that helps justify th ecost!

Free Night!
Sometimes we get so wrapped up in kid activities That it is a real blessing when bad weather (http://www.accuweather.com/us/tx/league-city/77573/city-weather-forecast.asp?partner=accuweather&u=1&traveler=0) blows in and rains everything out.
Today is me of those days. We were balancing tennis tryouts against baseball practice but lo and behold it
rained! And not just any old rain. Real hard, frog
strangling rain. So now I hav ethe night off!
Most likely house cleaning chores will fill the void, but hey, no driving will be good!

Trying out Ript
I've been trying out Ript (http://ript.com) for a little while and it is a lot of fun. Wy wife wonders what the Mac equivalent is but I have no idea. Ript (http://ript.com) allows you to "tear off" info or a picture and gather it together on a scrapbook page. It is a neat idea and throws a little "how did he do that?" into a presentation. Try it out. It's fun!
