I notice the pistols as a small child. I've mentioned them to other people who've said they would have to look next time because they have never noticed. Seeing as pedestrians are prohibited though, I don't think I would call it a "handrail." Guardrail might be a better term. Since the bridge needs to be replaced, maybe they should sell sections of the rail to help fund the new bridge.
